Description

A natural cow (cattle) scapula, the shoulder blade, most likely Bos taurus; the identification as a cow scapula is a best guess based on size and shape. It is a broad, flat, fan-shaped (roughly triangular) blade with a raised ridge (the spine of the scapula) running along one side, narrowing to a thick neck that ends in the shoulder socket (glenoid) with a hooked projection beside it. The surface is weathered, from cream-tan to gray, with darker staining, natural cracks, and some scuff and white marks on the blade. The photos show the whole bone, the blade from both sides, and close-ups of the neck and socket end.

– Weathered natural cow scapula / shoulder blade (likely cow)
– Approx. 15.5 x 10 x 4 inches

– Narrow neck ending in the shoulder socket (glenoid) with a hooked projection
